A parent's care information is personal. This page says, in plain words, what RelayCare collects, why, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. It covers two things: this website, and the RelayCare app.

RelayCare is operated by TrueNorth Direct LLC, 200 South Andrews Avenue, Suite 504, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.

This website

The only thing this website collects is what you type into it: your email address if you join the waitlist, and anything you choose to send us by email. We use the waitlist address only to tell you about RelayCare's launch and to answer you, and we keep it until you ask us to remove it.

This website sets no cookies and has no analytics, advertising, or tracking tools. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. See the Cookies page.

What the RelayCare app collects

  • Your email address, which is how you sign in. There are no passwords: we email you a sign-in code or link.
  • Care information that you and the people you invite enter or upload: the name and details of the person being cared for, medications, appointments, tasks, notes, documents, and emergency information.
  • Recordings of visits, only when you start one yourself (see “Documents and recordings” below).
  • Email addresses of family members you invite to your Care Circle, and the role you give each.
  • Technical information needed to keep the service running and secure, such as sign-in sessions and server logs.

Some items, such as a Social Security number and photos of an ID or insurance card kept in the phone's Care Vault, are stored only on that phone in its secure storage and are not sent to RelayCare's servers.

How we use it

  • To run RelayCare: show your family the same record on the phone and the website.
  • To send sign-in codes, and reminders and notifications you have turned on.
  • To answer your questions and keep the service secure.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with advertisers.

Documents and recordings

When you upload or photograph a document, a text-recognition service reads its text and an AI model writes a plain-language breakdown. The working copy made for reading is deleted once it has been read; the document itself stays in your care record until you delete it. AI output can be incomplete or wrong. It is never medical advice, so always check the original.

RelayCare records only when you start a recording, after you confirm everyone in the room has agreed. The recording is sent securely to be turned into text, then removed from your phone and from the transcription service once the text exists. Laws about recording conversations differ by state, and you are responsible for following them.

Who can see your information

  • You and your Care Circle, according to role. A Viewer can see most things but change nothing, and never sees visit recaps. A recap stays a private draft until you share it. Protected Time is private to the person who manages the care plan.
  • Service providers that run RelayCare for us: Supabase (database and sign-in), Amazon Web Services (document reading, AI, and transcription), and an email delivery provider. They handle data only to provide those services.
  • Anyone the law requires, if we receive a valid legal demand. We share only what is required.

How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and encrypted at rest by our database provider. Access to each family's record is limited to that family's members by the database itself. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

RelayCare is a tool for families, not a healthcare provider. It is not a HIPAA covered entity, and we do not claim HIPAA compliance or certification.

Keeping, downloading, and deleting your data

  • We keep your information while your account is active.
  • In Settings, “Download my data” gives you one file with everything you can see.
  • Settings also has “Delete my account.” It is permanent and takes effect straight away. If you are the last owner of a care plan, the whole care record, including every document, is deleted for everyone in it. Anyone else who deletes their account just leaves, and what they added shows as “a former member.”
  • Our database provider may keep encrypted backups for a short time after something is deleted. They are not used for anything else and are removed on their own schedule.
  • To be removed from the waitlist, or to ask about anything else, email us.

Your rights

You can see, correct, download, and delete your information as described above. Depending on where you live (for example California or Washington), you may have additional rights over your personal information, including health-related information. Email us and we will honor requests as the law requires. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for advertising.

Children

RelayCare is for adults, 18 and over, and is built for families in the United States. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you by email or in the service.
